About

Digital experiences grounded in observation, research and structure, with climate and sustainability as my main focus.

What I do

I am Alfonso Rodríguez, a digital experience creator. I develop projects that turn ideas, data, products, journeys and complex subjects into clear, visual and useful experiences.

Depending on their purpose, these experiences may incorporate narrative, visualisation, interaction, play or immersive elements. The form is chosen according to what the content needs to communicate.

An experience begins before technology

Each project begins by observing a context and understanding what needs to be explained, shown or resolved. From there, I research, select relevant information, identify connections, organise the content and build a narrative suited to the people it is intended for.

Technology is part of the process, but it is not the starting point. An app, a website, a visualisation or an immersive experience only makes sense when it communicates an idea more effectively, supports a decision or makes something easier to understand.

How I work

I combine observation, research and analysis with judgement, structure, narrative, design, AI-assisted prototyping and development, conventional tools, human review and testing.

I want every element to have a purpose and form to support content. An experience should be engaging, but also understandable, accessible and useful.

Observation → research → structure → prototype → human review → testing → publication

Main focus: climate and sustainability

Climate and sustainability are my main areas of work and research. I am particularly interested in exploring how environmental data and natural phenomena can be organised, explained and presented in ways that are understandable to people without specialist technical knowledge.

I approach them not only as technical or environmental matters, but as factors that directly affect daily life, people's decisions and our relationship with the environment.

Projects in continuous evolution

CLIMA TERRA — for people

CLIMA TERRA helps people understand how environmental conditions can influence daily life. Temperature, humidity, wind, rain, solar radiation and air quality are no longer presented as isolated data, but as more approachable information for making decisions and taking better care of themselves.

ATLAS — for all

ATLAS organises and presents information about recent natural phenomena on an interactive planet. Its purpose is to make that information more accessible, visual and understandable to anyone, providing context without replacing official organisations or specialist scientific tools.

MOON ↔ EARTH · Horizon 2030

A project in development exploring what it might mean to live and maintain a human presence on the Moon through perspectives such as climate, sustainability, food, resources and human adaptation, connecting knowledge developed on Earth with lessons learned on the Moon and their future application both on our planet and beyond.

GASTRO TERRA

A project in development that explores GASTROnomy through the products that feed the world and their connection with TERRA — Earth —, territory, sustainability, climate, culture and time: their origin, history and evolution across past, present and future.

These are living projects, continuously evolving. I review and improve them progressively whenever I identify new sources, content, functions, explanations or adjustments that can provide greater clarity, usefulness and coherence.

A broader practice

While climate and sustainability are my main focus, my broader practice also includes digital experiences in fields such as gastronomy.

I trained as a cook / pastry chef and later worked in restaurant and hotel kitchens in Spain and London. That professional stage continues to influence how I look at products, territory, sustainability, climate and food culture. From that connection comes GASTRO TERRA, a project that brings together GASTROnomy and TERRA — Earth — to explore the products that feed the world, their origin, history and evolution across past, present and future.

Through these experiences, I explore visual storytelling, interaction, immersive presentation and new ways to communicate ideas, products, services and journeys. This diversity expands the field of experimentation and allows me to apply the same judgement to different contexts.

Digital Business Card

This card applies the same philosophy to my professional presentation. My name, contact details, projects and purpose are brought together in a space-based scene rather than a conventional list of links.

The Sun–Earth–Moon composition visually connects three ideas present at this stage of the project: energy and climate, the planet as a space for observation and work, and lunar exploration represented by MOON ↔ EARTH · Horizon 2030. It is a narrative and compositional decision, not an astronomical simulation to scale.

The card is also an experience in its own right: it shows how an apparently simple need can be reinterpreted through narrative, design, interaction and technology.

Purpose

My projects share a common idea: turning information into understanding.

Understanding a context more clearly can support better judgement, reveal connections, help us anticipate and encourage a more conscious use of technology. In experiences such as CLIMA TERRA and ATLAS, that understanding also connects caring for people with a more responsible relationship with the planet.

The aim is not to impose a message or use technology for its own sake. It is to create experiences that help people see more clearly what is already in front of them.
